At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy’s instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea’s forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. Why: OMG You guys. I cannot get enough of Riordan’s writing. I fell in love with the Percy Jackson series, and when I found out it continued into the Heroes series, I almost fell over. Not to mention, The Mark of Athena, book 3, ended on a horrible cliffhanger. ARGH!! Also, I hear he’s doing a Norse mythology series sometime in the future? *Sigh* Riordan knows how to keep a reader hooked, yeah? (And the “untitled” Norse Mythology book is on goodreads, with a release year listed as 2015. Adding it to my “to read” now.) This is seriously how much I enjoy Riordan’s writing. THAT MUCH.
